The opening scene outside the store, the scenes outside the motel, and the final five minutes all show great improvements over the DVD. In the few outdoor scenes, this transfer does show some improvement, but these scenes are few and far between. The funny thing is, that whilst watching it, generally I found myself shocked at how poor it was, but just occasionally the quality would suddenly shine through, like the sun through the clouds, before descending back into a mire of mediocrity.Ĭomparing against the existing Region one special edition DVD both running on a standard player and then upscaled, it is clear that whilst this Blu-ray IS an improvement, it is not, in my opinion, worth ditching your standard DVD and upgrading, especially if you have decent upscaling equipment. It is with great regret therefore, that I have to report that this is one terrible Blu-ray - not the worst transfer I have seen but certainly towards the lower end. The film always looked reasonably good on DVD, so I had decent hopes for the Blu ray From Dusk Till Dawn comes to Blu ray on a Canadian import that is region free, and has a 1080P transfer. This is definitly a good read and I know understand why Nora Roberts Stories, whichever you happen to read, have such great characters and stories behind them.Oh dear. I liked both stories equally good, though I kind of digged the Nathalie and Ryan story just a little more. But who would have guessed ( -) yeah, right!) that the fire between them is just as hot? (God, that sounds cheesy.) The second story is about Nathalie and Ryan and a story that could be Cinderella material if the two protagonists didn't have switched roles: Ryan is a fire fighter turned arson investigator who is looking into the suspicious fires of Nathalie's Million Dollar company. On the other side there's that smoldering attraction that might just be too distracting. The story is a page turner and you really feel the cold fury that just lurks behind Althea and Colt. The first story is about Althea and Colt who partner up to find a missing girl and oust a pornographic video ring. I don't really know why, but it kept me turning pages and even though I'm an avid reader of paranormal stories, this rather normal one kept me reading until the very last page. But when he finds out that someone is purposely trying to burn Natalie out of business, the case suddenly becomes much more personal…Ĭonsidering these books are pretty old, you really do get the feeling of the 90's. Ryan is used to proving himself, though, and he knows he'll eventually be able to win Natalie over. Ryan is as known for his shrewd detective work as his infuriating arrogance, though neither impresses Natalie the way Ryan hoped they would. When her warehouse is destroyed in a suspicious fire, businesswoman Natalie Fletcher joins forces with arson investigator Ryan Piasecki to solve the case. Growing attraction between the unlikely pair complicates an already troublesome case, but Colt's never been one to turn down a challenge-and neither has Althea. Accustomed to working on his own, Colt has to adjust to being on a team…and he can't help but feel a bit distracted by the smart lieutenant. Colt might be a close friend of Althea's former partner, but his renegade style of justice is of no use to her. So when her informant on a runaway case is murdered, Althea turns to the next logical contact-Colt Nightshade, the witness at the crime scene. Lieutenant Althea Grayson does everything by the book. Danger, secrets and romance lurk under the cover of darkness…
